The white film on red grapes is actually a fungus. Is thee an easy way to wash it off?

Even though it is supposedly harmless to eat, I don't want to eat it. I hate having to hand wash every little grape. Is there anything that can be sprayed on the grape to easily remove this fungus?

Have you tried it and does it work? The white film on red grapes is actually a fungus. Is thee an easy way to wash it off?

Do you eat Blue Cheese salad dressing? That's mold....
That white film is a harmless wax that the grape plant produces it to protect the berries from moisture loss. It acts as a protective covering to prevent moisture from penetrating the fruit. It also keeps the skin from cracking when the grape loses moisture. Even better, the film contains nothing toxic! You will find the same harmless film on plums.
