Its black, stinky and i cant seem to get rid of it. it was from a flood. please help! How do you get rid of mold and fungus from walls?
think what you can see is bad? what you can't see is worse.

only way to get rid of all of it so it won't grow back. is to , cut the drywall at the 4ft level on both sides of the wall and replace it insulation too. only way, mold spores are very bad for ones health. 4ft level because drywall comes in 4x8ft sheets and to be sure to get it all. i know, but you'll thank me later. claim on your insurance this is a job for a pro.How do you get rid of mold and fungus from walls?
I have dealt with this when I had a water heater leak at one point, clear the area and make sure you ventilate the area as best as you can, open windows and the like. I used a tile cleaner with bleach, but you can also make a solution yourself of bleach and some water, spray onto the area and with a brush or rag, lightly scrub the area rinsing your rag in between . I placed a fan in front of the area and left it there overnight to help it dry. It worked for me, hope it helps you.
you could try bleach, but if it is toxic get everyone out of the house a hire a professional to deal with it.Toxic mold can indeed be very harmful,so before you do anything consult a professional
try not to use bleach, u can if u want but whats really going really kill the mold is peroxide because its not as water down as bleach. Also make sure its not in the walls if so that may have to be replaced.
You might try washing walls with Clorox bleach and warm water, or spray Clorox -Cleanup on old toweling and wash walls down with that. Make sure room is well ventilated. Wear rubber gloves.

If that doesn't work on even one wall,

call in the pros, as that's their specialty.

Check with the BBB to verify credentials of people you hire.
Try a solution of hot water and chlorine bleach if the stains come back, then the mold is probably inside walls. If so, then you will have to remove the drywall and insulation and replace with new. Be sure to treat the studding with the hot water and strong chlorine bleach before replacing.
Wash it first with something like Pinesol and water, but try not to get the surface any wetter than you absolutely have to, to get it clean.

Then when you've got it really clean, use a spray bottle with a bleach/water solution in it to coat the area. Let the bleach/water dry on the surface. (mix 1/4-1/2cup of bleach to a bucket of water.

You really should use a mask (respirator) while you do this. You'll be sending the icky mold spores into the air. Also gloves just because you don't want to spread the mold to any other surface and the cleaners might be irritating.

Use fans or whatever you can get you hands on to make sure the surface gets really, really dry.
Bleach to kill the mold and then scrubbing bubbles or lysol foam to clean off the black stuff.
Use 2 parts Liquid Chlorine Bleach to 1 part water. Use a heavy duty scour pad and sponge to scrub the affected areas. Wipe the area cleaned dry with a dry towel. If the affected area is extremely moldy, call a professional and get out as mold and mildew will make people extremely sick from the airbourne microscopic particals.
What you are describing is a highly toxic mold that can cause severe respiratory problems. The only way to get rid of it is to remove the ALL the drywall affected and replace it. The old drywall should be disposed of very carefully as if it is Toxic Waste. Before removing it, put up plastic barrier sheets to seal the room off, wear a mask, eye protection and gloves. When the drywall has been removed, check the studs for any signs of mold, and replace the wood if contaminated. Please be advised this is not a simple project, it can be very expensive and time consuming. If you are not comfortable doing this project then hire a professional.
