My dog has a fungus on his belly. What can I do to get rid of it? 8 months of 2 vets care & its still there?

He has been on anti-biotics for months and steroids as well. He's had several shots and it begins to get better, but then comes back again. I can not afford any more vet bills right now so I'm looking to the community for suggestions. He is now throwing up every meal he eats. Any suggestions? If it's a fungal infection, anti-biotics will do nothing but make it worse. Are you sure it's anti-biotics and not anti-fungals?

Fungal infections are hard to treat since the cellular structure of fungus is similar to that of a dog or a human. I have a dog that we have had her on heavy duty anti-fungals for almost a year and we aren't even anywhere near done. All you can do is get a good oral medication as well as a topical anti-fungal and make sure you stick with it.

Throwing up every meal sounds totally unrelated and something that needs to be addressed. My dog has a fungus on his belly. What can I do to get rid of it? 8 months of 2 vets care %26amp; its still there?
You might consider that the fungus may be a contact allergy. I would look at where he sleeps or spends the most amount of time on his belly. Something as simple as a type of bedding change may clear it up. I'm not saying that this is what it is, just a possibility.

Or since he has started throwing up every meal and seems to have a fungus on his belly, maybe he has a food allergy. You might try putting him on a dog food that contains no wheat, corn or any wheat gluten, and is as minimally processed as possible. If you go to one of the major pet stores, they can probably recommend something.

I'm suggesting this because once when I was working for a vet (many years ago), we had a cat that developed scaly patches, and the hair fell out in these spots. Looked very odd. There wasn't as wide a variety of foods around for pets then, and we switched him to lamb meat and rice that we would cook for him in a crock pot. It took a while, but his hair eventually all came back in and he was fine. But if the owner ever cheated and tried to give him regular food again, his hair would start falling out.
I had a dog that had what sounds like the same symptoms as yours, apart from the throwing up. Several years of vets and no joy, until I moved home, new vet and did a few new tests (at no charge - simple examination-type tests). Turns out he was hyper-allergic to a certain strain of flea - one bite and he lost fur, and severe wet excema, fungal groths, severe rashes and itching.

The treatment that worked was simply several warm baths at the first sign of an outbreak, and lots of savlon on any affected area. Worked a treat and cost next to nothing!

Dog finally put down at 17, his first-born puppy still going strong, just turned nine.

Not all vets are the same; there are vets out there who will take the time to find the cause, but others are more interested in the fees they can charge. Ask around for who other people have found to be really helpful.
well they need something to clear the fungi drink lots of water it will

help how it will go to the digestive system and he will #2 or 1 it out.

which is the only thing that you could do because fungus spread

with out stop but the vets know what their doing just make it eat

and drink(water) food anything lots of vitamin's.
Maby your house has something in it or the yard where ever he goes might be dirty. Also the throwing up might be allergies in the food or his brain does that or his teeth are not clean and it makes him throw up. My cat throws up a ton its because of her brain.
Having done a 2 year route with vets to treat a ';mysterious'; skin infection, I can feel your pain. I know you don't want to go to another vet, BUT, do you have any holistic vets in your area? It might be worth a shot.
Their is a Natural oil treatment you can use, don't remember the oils but it will work. A bit on the messy side, Try and google it. has been proved to work as a home remedy
Is it related to living conditions? Also antibiotics I am not sure works, you'll maybe need anti-fungal stuff...
Try an athlete's foot or jock itch cream or spray
